Panama City, FL (January 8, 2026) – A crash at a busy Panama City intersection on Wednesday night, January 7, left two people injured, according to officials. The incident occurred on U.S. Highway 231 near the intersection with County Road 390.
The crash happened when a pickup truck and a sedan collided at the intersection. A 61-year-old man was driving northbound on U.S. 231 with a 63-year-old woman riding as a passenger. They were traveling in the left turn lane as they approached County Road 390.
At the same time, a 22-year-old woman was driving southbound toward the same intersection. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the northbound driver failed to yield the right of way while attempting to turn.
The front of the southbound sedan struck the passenger side of the pickup truck. The impact caused injuries to both the 22-year-old driver and the 63-year-old passenger in the pickup.
Emergency units arrived shortly after the crash and assisted at the scene. Medical personnel evaluated those involved and treated reported injuries. Officials confirmed that both injured individuals suffered minor injuries.

What Happens After an Intersection Crash in Panama City.2510271415348.jpg)
After an intersection crash, a medical evaluation should come first, even when injuries seem minor. Intersections along Panama City see frequent turning traffic, which increases the risk of side-impact crashes. These crashes can cause injuries that do not always show symptoms right away.
Side-impact crashes often place force directly on the torso and head. People may feel fine at first but later notice neck pain, bruising, or headaches. Medical visits help identify issues early and provide records that explain how injuries develop over time. This documentation can guide future care if symptoms change.
Intersection crashes also create paperwork that can feel confusing. Police reports, insurance forms, and medical bills often arrive quickly. Keeping records organized helps people track treatment and expenses. Clear documentation also helps insurance companies understand what happened and how injuries relate to the crash.
Legal guidance may help people understand how these pieces fit together. A Panama City car accident lawyer can review reports, explain insurance communication, and outline what options may be available. Legal support can also help explain how medical bills, missed work, and other costs are handled after a crash.
