Jackson County, FL – Fatal Collision on I-10 at MM 144
Jackson County, FL (September 17, 2025) – A tragic accident occurred on Monday morning, September 15, when a 37-year-old man from Grand Ridge lost his life in a crash on Interstate 10.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the incident took place just after 7:30 a.m. at Mile Marker 144, involving a pickup truck and a sedan. The driver of the pickup truck, a 32-year-old woman from Alta, was traveling westbound in the inside lane of I-10, while the sedan, driven by the Grand Ridge man, was in the outside lane traveling at a lower speed.
The pickup truck moved from the inside lane to the outside lane to overtake another vehicle. As the truck changed lanes, it collided with the rear of the sedan, causing the sedan to accelerate and rotate uncontrollably.
Sadly, FHP officials confirmed that the driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene by Jackson County EMS. The driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation by FHP, and authorities are working to determine the factors that led to the fatal collision.
We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time.
