Gulf County, FL (September 11, 2025) – A tragic three-vehicle crash claimed the life of an 82-year-old woman from Wewahitchka on Wednesday afternoon, September 10. The incident occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 71 and County Road 386.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the woman was traveling southbound when her car was rear-ended by a pickup truck. The impact pushed her vehicle into the northbound lanes, where it was struck again on the passenger side by another pickup truck. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, the woman was sadly pronounced dead.

The two other individuals involved in the crash were uninjured. Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident, but it remains unclear whether speed, distracted driving, or other factors played a role in the tragic event.
