Gadsden Co., FL – Several Seriously Injured Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-10 W
Gadsden County, FL (September 2, 2025) – A chain-reaction crash on Interstate 10 sent several people to the hospital with serious injuries Sunday afternoon, August 31.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the wreck happened around 3:00 p.m. near mile marker 183 after an older model sedan caught fire.
The driver and passengers inside the burning vehicle escaped safely before flames spread further.
As traffic slowed around the scene, a 20-year-old man from Tallahassee driving a Jeep failed to notice the slowdown and slammed into the back of a Nissan carrying four people.
The force of the crash pushed the Nissan, driven by a 44-year-old woman, into another Nissan ahead of it. That second Nissan was driven by a 39-year-old woman who had two passengers with her.
Troopers said all three drivers suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A rear passenger in the first Nissan was airlifted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital as a precaution.
Other passengers and drivers were also transported to TMH for treatment. Emergency crews temporarily blocked I-10 West for about an hour while clearing the wreckage and assisting the injured.
The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that the investigation into the crash remains active.
Our thoughts are with everyone hurt in this collision, and we hope for their full recovery.
