Car crashes in busy areas often result in a wide range of injuries, many of which require immediate medical attention. The severity of injuries depends on factors such as speed, point of impact, and whether victims were wearing seat belts. Victims of auto accidents frequently suffer from:
- Whiplash and neck injuries: Sudden impact can cause muscles and ligaments in the neck to stretch or tear.
- Back and spinal injuries: Herniated discs, spinal fractures, or nerve damage may occur, sometimes leading to long-term mobility issues.
- Broken bones and fractures: Arms, legs, ribs, and hips are especially vulnerable in side-impact or head-on collisions.
- Head and traumatic brain injuries: Even with airbags, victims can suffer concussions or more serious brain trauma.
- Internal bleeding and organ damage: The force of a collision can harm vital organs, often requiring emergency surgery.
- Soft tissue injuries: Sprains, bruising, and muscle tears can cause lasting pain and stiffness.
- Psychological trauma: Victims may also experience anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress following a severe crash.
Prompt medical care is critical after any car accident to diagnose hidden injuries and prevent complications. A Tallahassee personal injury lawyer can help victims recover compensation for medical costs, lost wages, and ongoing treatment.
