Myrtle Grove, FL – Bicyclist Killed in DUI Crash on Lillian Hwy & Stafford Ln, Driver Arrested

Myrtle Grove, FL (October 20, 2025) – A tragic crash on Sunday, October 19, claimed the life of a bicyclist after being struck by a suspected drunk driver in Escambia County.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, troopers responded to the scene just after midnight at the intersection of Lillian Highway and Stafford Lane. The collision involved a vehicle and a man riding a bicycle. Emergency crews transported the 51-year-old victim to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries.

Investigators said the driver fled the scene immediately after the crash. Troopers later found a piece of the vehicle’s bumper at the site, which contained a VIN number linking it to the suspect’s car.

Authorities identified the driver as 42-year-old Hannah Williams of Pensacola. When officers arrived at her home, they discovered she had crashed into an electrical box and appeared to be cleaning her damaged vehicle.

Troopers said Williams showed clear signs of impairment. She reportedly had a blood alcohol content of .180—more than twice Florida’s legal limit. Officers arrested her and charged her with DUI manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate this deadly incident to determine all contributing factors.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim during this difficult time.

Bicycle Accidents in Pensacola

Bicycle accidents in Pensacola often lead to devastating outcomes, especially when they involve impaired or reckless drivers. Cyclists have little protection against the force of a moving vehicle, making even low-speed crashes potentially fatal. When drivers choose to get behind the wheel while intoxicated, they put every road user at risk. Tragically, cases like this highlight how quickly one person’s decision to drive drunk can destroy lives.
