Pensacola, FL (December 8, 2025) – Four people suffered injuries Sunday evening, December 7, when a small plane crashed shortly after takeoff at Pensacola International Airport. Airport officials confirmed that the crash happened around 5:30 p.m. as a Cessna 172 attempted to depart from Runway 08.

According to Airport Executive Director Matt Coughlin, the aircraft veered left of the runway during takeoff. Once airborne, it continued off course and crashed into a treeline located just north of airport property. First responders arrived within minutes and began treating the pilot and three passengers. All four individuals reported injuries, but officials said none of the injuries appeared life-threatening.

Emergency crews closed Runways 08 and 26 for cleanup and safety checks. Both runways reopened by 8 p.m., restoring full airport operations.
