Molino, FL – Critical Injury Two-Vehicle Crash at Hwy 29 & Molino Rd
Molino, FL (December 15, 2025) - A serious two-vehicle collision Friday afternoon, December 12, at the intersection of Highway 29 and Molino Road left four people injured, including two in critical condition, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash occurred during the afternoon hours and prompted a large emergency response in the Florida Panhandle.
Investigators reported that an 86-year-old man from Birmingham was driving a red Lexus SUV southbound on Highway 29 when he entered the intersection against a red traffic signal. At the same time, a white Chevrolet SUV driven by a 39-year-old woman from Molino traveled northbound and attempted to turn onto Molino Road.
The vehicles collided in the intersection, causing severe damage. The Birmingham driver and his 73-year-old female passenger suffered critical injuries. Emergency crews classified both as trauma alerts and airlifted them by separate medical helicopters to a hospital in Pensacola for urgent treatment.
The driver of the white Chevrolet SUV and her 40-year-old male passenger, both from Molino, also sustained injuries. Paramedics transported them by ambulance to a local hospital for further evaluation and care. Officials have not released details regarding the extent of their injuries.
Due to the severity of the crash and the investigation that followed, authorities completely shut down both Highway 29 and Molino Road for an extended period. Troopers secured the scene while emergency crews assisted victims and investigators documented evidence.
The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed the investigation remains ongoing.
We wish all those injured strength and healing as they continue to receive medical care.
