Escambia County, FL – DUI Fatal Auto Accident on SR-173 Blue Angel Pkwy
Escambia County, FL (December 22, 2025) – A deadly crash in Escambia County has led to the arrest of a Pensacola man on DUI manslaughter charges following a multi-vehicle collision Sunday evening, December 21. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 5:56 p.m. on State Road 173, also known as Blue Angel Parkway, in the Florida Panhandle.
Troopers reported that a vehicle driven by a 33-year-old Pensacola man traveled northbound on State Road 173 when it crossed the center line. The vehicle then collided with two southbound vehicles traveling in the opposite direction. The impact caused severe damage and prompted an immediate emergency response.
First responders arrived and found a passenger inside one of the southbound vehicles with fatal injuries. Authorities pronounced the passenger dead at the scene. Officials have not released the victim’s identity at this time. Other individuals involved in the crash received on-scene assistance, though police did not report additional life-threatening injuries.
Following the investigation at the scene, troopers determined that impairment played a role in the collision. Authorities arrested the driver early Monday morning, December 22, at approximately 1:58 a.m. on charges of DUI manslaughter. Officials booked him into the Escambia County Jail, where he remains held without bond.
