Walton County, FL (August 29, 2025) – A tragic crash in Walton County claimed the life of a Westville woman Friday morning, August 29, after a pickup truck struck multiple vehicles on Highway 20.

The accident happened around 9:00 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 20 and Joe Campbell Road, just east of Freeport.

Florida Highway Patrol reported that a 33-year-old Westville man driving a pickup truck failed to stop and slammed into two vehicles waiting on the highway.

The impact caused a second vehicle, an SUV, to overturn on the shoulder. The driver, a 50-year-old woman from Westville, died at the scene.

Troopers confirmed that the truck driver and his 19-year-old passenger were not injured.

The third vehicle, another pickup truck driven by a 39-year-old man from Dallas, Texas, was struck but was not hurt.

Emergency crews responded immediately but were unable to save the SUV driver.

Authorities have not released her name, and the investigation into the deadly collision continues.
